The tackles in open field are animated more and less ridiculous tackles. This has made the opposition appear as super-heroes who floated through the air. It is easier to use basic movements with the right stick. This makes it much more difficult to avoid opponents and allows for smoother running. This is the buggiest entry in the Madden series in recent times, and that is not a bad thing, as the year had headless players running around, and huge glitches that saw huge lines run across screen as if players were playing on an old plasma TV. The most irritating thing about this continuous sequence of glitches, is the fact that it causes issues with the gameplay. If a framerate drops at a certain time players might miss a catch or kick.
