How to Go to Khatu Shyam from Delhi?
Khatu Shyam makes for a good quick trip if you are looking to step out of Delhi without too much planning. The temple town falls in Sikar district, Rajasthan, and honestly, reaching there is not a hassle at all. Some people do it as a day trip, others stay back for the night, but the journey part stays simple either way. Here is how most people get there.
By Road
The Delhi to Khatu Shyam distance is around 270-280 km and takes about 5-6 hours via NH48 and NH52. The best part of driving your own car is you can stop anytime you want and grab some food and you can also book a car on rent in Delhi to travel in comfort.
By Train
You can hop on a train till Jaipur or Ringas, whichever suits your plan better. Ringas is actually the closer railway station. From there, it's a short 20-25 km left, easy to cover by cab or auto-rickshaw.
By Air
If you are flying, Jaipur airport is the one to land at. Khatu Shyam is roughly 80 km from there, so under two hours by road usually.
By Bus
Buses and shared cabs run pretty often too, more so during the Shyam Baba Mela when the crowd picks up. Works well if you are okay sharing the ride and keeping the budget light.
By Tempo Traveller
If you are travelling with family or a bigger group, a road trip just makes more sense, honestly. Stop when you feel like it; take your time at the temple, with no rushing around. An Urbania van on rent in Delhi fits well for this. Enough room for everyone, AC running the whole way, and no worrying about cab timings or parking on the highway.
