Chris Rea was interviewed by John Pidgeon: - Tell us about "Nothing to fear"Nothing to fear is a song about a European guy welcoming Muslims, and the gist of the story is that if you show us we have nothing to fear, you know, there's gonna be no problem. And it's asking them to show a sign of peace. It's one of those songs that can get me in trouble sometimes, in the wrong context because I like to do double meanings and things like that, I was always a great poetry fan. And, then song also applies to a man and a woman, or any relationship, in it's beginning, and it's basically saying, you know, you've got to show each other that there's nothing to fear.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I feel your heat in dusty whispersThe wind is cold around your moonIt's getting hard to keep our distanceI know your time is coming soonDon't point your dream on my horizonDon't take your rose too far from homePlease don't forget we're not each otherEach soul has black thorns of his ownI see you dancingYour song is clearYou've got to show me, got to show meThere's nothing to fearNothing to fearI have my loved ones you have yoursSo let us gaze upon the feastIn God's own name let's eat togetherIn God's own name please come in peaceSee how our children play togetherWhile you and me we stand aloneI know we'll never be each otherIf I leave you leave me aloneI see you dancingYour song is clearYou've got to show me, got to show meThere's nothing to fearNothing to fear
